Pudding party

In response to my current unit essay about celebrity food shows sustaining themselves such as Heston's feasts, Great British Bake Off and Hugh's fish and chicken fight, this dinner served 3 courses of pudding to some very famished guests.

Filming also took place currently being edited at the moment but hopefully the photos , shot from cake cam, can reveal the tasty delights served up and prepared to wow guests in various froms of sweet and savoury desserts!

British Musuem - UAL and Grayson Perry event

The Grayson Perry British Musuem Friday late with exhibitions, stalls, performances and workshops by various University of Arts colleges and courses. There was a slient disco by Ual arts radio, medal casting, live fashion walk with LCF students putting on a fashion runway with pieces designed by collections or objects in the British Museum. Slightly weird, gigantic lean models strutting around and posing but the crafty stalls were my thing.

Great evening out and free, always good for students, where I went to support fellow 3D students Rosie, Vivi and Henry. They all put alot of hardwork in to their chosen exhibit titled WELCOME TO THE AFTERLIFE.

 As you arrived to the stall, you are given a chance coin, one bad and good side which determines what coffin you then lay into to take your journey into the afterlife.

I got the dark side, where my offering card and ticket is taken to the next stage where I write down my offering. (Think I drew some sort of cake?!)

You then put on your afterlife jacket and with your offering, lie down in the coffin. As I was going to the dark side, my coffin was blacked out and the helpers dont interact or talk to you, just point to it and cover you. Not knowing whats gunna happen, thought I would get noises or something you lie there for a couple of minutes til they lift the lid. Not knowing how long your gunna be there is great, gives you the creeps hearing all the voices around in the musuem and not being able to see!

 A great opportunity and to give our course abit of a boost, Rosie Vivi and Henry did an amazing job. A really unique and stand out stall that got alot of attention during the course of the evening!

Design Festival 2011

During the Design Festival, in Sept 2011, I went round London taking snapshots and visiting a few places. Heres a couple of photos I took on my travels. Probobly the best Design Week I've been around yet, found it quite difficult to go to all the venues and shows in such a small amount of time. Also quite difficult not living in London to get the time to travel up.

Timber Wave outside the Victoria and Albert Musuem, exhibition road, Kensington.

Quite interested in the interlocking system that holds each waved edge together. Very neat and all the parts went great together in unison/repeated pattern.

Industrial revolution 2.0

Collaborated with Materialise, Belgium who manufactured all the 3D works in the show.

Made the big hall space fill cosy, people were chatting, reading their phones or books, some sketching other people. Slightly rough to sit on, didn't stay long on my own as it felt more of a sharing with others space rather than somewhere to quieter to relax in.



Lego UK outdoor greenhouse - Sebastian Bergne in Covent Garden square

Apart from a tiny door for visitors to look in, this self-contained greenhouse was built completely with clear interlocking Lego bricks.

Hot air is pumped in at one side and small vents at the top allow the greenhouse's oxygen air to be released. lovely bright sunflowers and ferns were filled inside.

As it was in such a touristy/busy area, the piece always had alot of attention surrounding it, mainly for the sheer wonderment is was all Lego!

Chari'tea

My 100 batch product called Chari'tea.

A cake stand produced from 'saved'

ceramic-ware and transformed into kitsch and

colourful tea stands.

No two stands are the same as the plates were

donated and are then purchased

from the charity shop.

When pewter met ceramics...

My entry for the national pewterers guild anual competition.

A project devoted to using pewter plus the option of using other materials.



Combining the two materials, ceramics and pewter, I am designing a

jewelery range of brooches and pendants.

My final designs are currently still ongoing but the marrying of the

two materials make quite beautiful objects.

I have been using old, broken and lost fragments from my last

project but of the pieces are colourful and pretty and suit well

with the attractiveness of the shiny metal.

Below are my current prototypes and also the making process.

Sandcasting an abstract shape into the sand and

channeling the molten pewter through and around the ceramic.

Art Foundation.

Created last year on my art foundation in Brighton, I begun experimenting with old tights and hot wax. The materials brief given was to use an existing material and add something that would alter its previous state. This then led me to start structuring the various textures of tights before dipping them into a hot wax pot. I started making small test patches and then vessel forms. (pictured above.) Below are some of my final results from these my experiments.
